RNR members participate year-round in FIRST® related activities, whether it be robot-design/building/programming practice, website and team promotion, raising funds to support the team or outreach events to promote FIRST® robotics and STEM education. This helps to not only prepare students for FIRST® Robotics Competitions (FRC), but it also helps to familiarize team members with the principles of FIRST®.

WHAT IS FIRST®? In the words of FIRST® founder Dean Kamen, FIRST® was created "to transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes." The mission of FIRST ® is to engage young people and inspire them to change the world. Through a wide range of opportunities and mentoring, participating students can enhance their technology skills, build self-confidence and leadership, learn to work as a team to achieve goals, and experience the excitement of FIRST ® competition while making many new friends along the way. FIRST® organizes several robotics competitions to get students involved in robotics through a fun game. The major competition is the FIRST® Robotics Competition, in which students build robots to play a given game on a human-sized field.

HOW WE EXIST? If it was not for the generosity of the individuals and businesses who sponsor our program, we would not have the resources to provide these great opportunities for our community. If you would like to sponsor our team, please see the SUPPORT US page.

2023 Build Season

After seeing FIRST’s exciting Season 11 Kick-Off, Red Nation Robotics has been hard at work! Each sub-teams’ leads is currently working on directing their teammates on what they need to accomplish. The build/design sub-team is brainstorming, researching, and discussing the function and form our robot needs. The programming team has been updating all their software in order and closely working alongside with build/design. On the other hand, the business and media sub-teams have combined in order to campaign for more sponsors and grants to fund the team. We all look forward to this season’s competition! Red Nation Robotics plans on continuing the intense pressure and high standards throughout the entire build season. It helps that we’re properly funded for our mechanical parts, online resources, food, and travel costs for competitions. If you’re interested in assisting our student-led organization please visit our “SPONSOR US!” page at the top menu. And if you don’t have any monetary funds, we’re always looking for more mentors to help guide our students. You can contact us at our “CONTACT” page at the top of the menu. Any and all help is appreciated.
